   粒子物理与原子核物理是以研究核及粒子结构及其相互作用规律的学科,它深刻地影响着人类对物质世界认识的基本观念。通过对粒子物理及核物理的基础理论和实验方法、技术的系统学习,培养学生成为该领域的研究和教学人才。主要研究内容有:以国际、国内大型对撞机实验装置为依托的高能物理实验;新型探测器及新探测技术;粒子物理现象理论;粒子物理理论研究中的计算机技术;以正电子为探针的核分析技术;量子计算机;核固体物理;核技术在工业、生物医学中的应用等。

    研究室拥有快电子能量损失符合谱仪,(e,2e)电子动量谱仪电子碰撞全截面装置并参加校内同步辐射原子分子实验站和扫描探针单原子操纵和识别装置研制主要研究原子,分子,团簇的激发态结构及动力学电离和解离能壳分辨的电子动量谱和波函数以及单原子操纵和识别研究工作主要得到国家科委攀登计划国家自然科学基金委中国科学院的支持已发表文章60多篇

    本研究组主要进行粒子物理实验和新探测器的研究工作,并积极参与国内和国际高能物理实验,参加高能物理合作组有:BES(北京)、L3CERN--欧洲粒子物理研究中心)、BELLE(日本高能物理研究所)、CMSCERN)、AMS等。从事探测器的研制,如各种丝室,各种新晶体的性能测试与研究、CMS电磁量能器的研制等;从事实验数据分析,物理课题有:e+e-对撞物理,顶夸克物理,标准模型及其扩展的精确检验,CP破坏及新物理现象和规律的探索,在LEP能区的QED检验,τ的产生截面,新粒子的寻找等。在国内本研究组主动申请各项国家自然科学基金项目和国家攀登计划,已完成和正在进行的有:紫外光敏气体丝室;气体放电中自淬灭流光机制的研究;LEP物理及新探测器研究(子课题);PP物理模拟及神经元网络法应用研究;BESτ物理分析与神经元网络法应用;高能光子碰撞中的W物理及CP破坏的研究。中国科学院重大国际合作项目专项科研基金(子课题-钨酸铅晶体的性能研究);国家科委-弗拉芒(比利时)合作项目:闪烁材料研究在生命科学及高能物理中的应用。另外承担北京正负电子对撞机开放实验室课题:北京谱仪的τ物理研究(基金重大课题的子课题);神经网络法应用于北京谱仪的粒子辨别;九十年代理论物理若干重大前沿问题的研究;粒子物理研究中的计算机软件环境的发展和研究等课题。于1995年与瑞士联邦苏黎士高等理工学院(ETHZ)高能物理组成立了高能物理联合研究所。近几年已发表论文60多篇。
