Department of Mathematics, The Ohio State University: I was a Ph.D student there from June 1995 to August 1996.

School of Mathematics, University of Minnesota, Twin Cities: I was a Ph.D student from August 1996 to May 2000, when I got my Ph.D degree, under the instruction of Prof. Greg W. Anderson.

Department of Mathematics, University of Toronto: From July 2000 to June 2003, I was a postdoctoral fellow there. My postdoctoral advisor was Prof. V. Kumar Murty.

Department of Mathematical Sciences, Tsinghua University: I was an associate professor there from July 2003 to January 2007.

Some places I visited:

• Institut des Hautes Études Scientifiques (IHÉS): one of the best places in the world for mathematical research, where I was a visiting scholar on 01/2001-06/2001, 01/2006-03/2006, 07/2006.
• ALGANT Program (ALgebra, Geometry And Number Theory): Established in 2004 only for master program, this Erasmus Mundus program now consists of ten research and educational establishments on four continents, namely the universities of Bordeaux (France), Duisburg-Essen (Germany), Leiden (Netherlands), Milano (Italy), Concordia (Montréal, Canada), Padova (Italy), Paris-Sud (France), Regensburg (Germany), Stellenbosch (South Africa) and the Chennai Mathematical Institute (India), and offers a two-year world-class integrated master course and a joint doctorate program in pure mathematics, with a strong emphasis on Algebra, Geometry and Number Theory. I was a visiting professor in 2006 and 2007.
• Department of Mathematics, Purdue University. I was a visiting scholar there from July 2013 to July2014.
• 中国科学院晨兴数学中心 (Morningside Center of Mathematics, Chinese Academy of Sciences). Over the years I visited MCM from time to time, usually in the summer.
