International Workshop on Gas-phase Kinetics in Interstellar, Atmospheric and Combustion Chemistry March 6-9, 2019
Hefei, China
Chemical kinetics is a branch of physical chemistry with a long history. With the development of experimental diagnostics and kinetic theories including rate constant calculations and kinetic modeling, modern chemical kinetics has become more and more active on solving problems in real complex reaction systems. This international workshop invites researchers in the field of chemical kinetics with different expertise to discuss the research frontiers of chemical kinetics under different conditions, specifically interstellar, atmospheric and combustion environments. The fundamental physics of crucial process under interstellar, atmospheric and combustion environment is sometimes governed by similar reactions/mechanisms, while only temperature and pressure conditions are different. This workshop aims to promote interdisciplinary communication and promote potential collaborations among scientists who are using chemical kinetics tools in different applied fields.
TOPICS AND SCOPE
GKIAC will cover all aspects of chemical kinetics, including but not limited to:
- Fundamental physical-chemical processes in interstellar, atmosphere and combustion
- New tools for automatically handling the complex reaction systems
- PAH and soot formation
- Novel techniques for Diagnostics
- Chemical, plasma, and laser initiation of combustion
- Uncertainty propagation and quantification
WORKSHOP FORMAT
The workshop will emphasize a face to face discussion. It will remain a single session format and will have several thematic sessions. The conference will be organized in a relax way so that in-depth and fruitful discussion will be ensured. The official language will be English. We expect about 40 participants.
