Juyong Zhang received his Ph.D. degree in School of Computer Science and Engineering from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, under the supervision of Prof. Jianfei Cai and Prof. Jianmin Zheng. Before that, he got his Bachelor degree in Computer Science and Engineering from USTC in 2006. From 2011 to 2012, he first worked as an intern student and then a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in LGG of EPFL, Switzerland. Since August 2012, he has been a faculty member in the School of Mathematical Sciences.


His research interests fall into the areas of computer graphics, computer vision, and machine learning. More specifically, he is interested in the following research topics:

  • Graphics & Vision: 3D Scene Reconstruction, 3D Human Body/Face/Hand Reconstruction, Rigid/Non-Rigid Registration

  • Machine Learning: Face Recognition, Deep Learning for RGB-D data and 3D Mesh Processing

  • Numerical Optimization: Sparse Optimization, Parallel/Scalable Optimization
