个人简介

李厚强博士,中国科学技术大学电子工程与信息科学系教授,入选教育部“新世纪优秀人才培养计划”。主要研究方向为图象处理、视频编码与通信、计算机视觉、计算机图形学等。他领导的课题组积极参与ISO/MPEGITU等国际标准化组织和中国数字音视频编解码技术标准工作组(AVS)的活动,现有多项提案被MPEG/JVTAVS接受。他作为负责人承担了多项国家自然科学基金重点项目、面上项目,国家863计划项目;作为负责人,承担了多项与Nokia公司有关视频编码的国际合作项目;作为负责人,还承担了与微软亚洲研究院、华为公司的合作项目。他目前是IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems for Video TechnologyIEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications, IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics等国际学术期刊,以及The International Conference on Image Processing (ICIP), IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and SystemsISCAS), IEEE International Conference on Multimedia & Expo (ICME), Visual Communication and Image ProcessingVCIP)等国际学术会议的审稿人。他在IEEE Trans. on Image Processing, IEEE Trans. on Multimedia, IEEE Trans. on Circuit and System I, International Journal of Pattern Recognition and Artificial Intelligence等国际著名期刊,以及ICIPICMEVCIP等国际重要会议上发表视频编码与通信、图像处理等领域的论文40余篇。

一、视频编码与通信

 

1、数字视频编码技术标准

 

视频编码技术解决的重点问题是数字视频海量数据的编码压缩问题,它是其后数字信息传输、存储、播放等环节的前提,因此,视频编码技术标准是数字音视频产业的共性基础标准。本课题组积极参与ISO/MPEGITU等国际标准化组织和中国数字音视频编解码技术标准工作组(AVS)的活动,现有多项提案被MPEG/JVTAVS接受。目前,本课题组主要参与MPEG/JVT有关SVCMVC标准的制定和AVS移动视频标准的制定。

2、分布式视频编码

 

分布式视频编码(Distributed Video Coding)是一种全新的视频编码框架,其基本思想是采用信道编码技术,将编码端的计算复杂度转移到解码端,在解码端采用运动估计、预测插值等方法,挖掘信源统计特性,进行有效的编码压缩;其理论基础是信息论中的Slepian-Wolf定理和Wyner-Ziv定理,它们指出两个信源独立编码、联合解码可能达到联合编码、联合解码相同的编码效率。分布式编码具有许多优良性能,可以弥补现有视频编码技术的不足,提供系统总体性能最佳的编码方案,产生许多新应用,特别是面向无线移动多媒体的应用,具有非常广泛的应用前景。分布式编码理论涉及信息论中的许多基础问题,需要从新的角度、基于新的条件重新研究,具有极其重要的理论意义和广泛的应用价值。目前的主要研究内容有:1)单目视频的分布式编码理论及技术;2)多目视频的分布式编码理论及技术。

 

 

3、视频自适应

 

视频自适应(Video Adaptation)主要研究如何对视频信号进行调整,将其变换为满足限制条件的某种形式以适应复杂的多媒体应用环境,更好地满足用户的需求。本质上,其可以抽象为数学中带约束条件的最优化问题。视频自适应是新兴的视频技术研究领域,包含众多基础理论和实用化技术研究,具有重要的理论意义和广泛的应用价值。现有的视频自适应技术主要针对一些特定问题,不具有普适性。目前本课题组尝试从一个全新的角度,研究通用的、可以解决多种视频自适应问题的技术方法。

二、基于图像处理的生物信息学

 

生物信息学是数学、信息科学与生命科学等交叉结合的新兴学科,分子成像(Molecular Imaging)技术、细胞成像(Cellular Imaging)技术是目前该领域的研究热点。分子成像是许多技术的简称,这些技术能够让研究人员看到生物体内的基因、蛋白质和其他功能分子,使疾病在基因水平上的早期诊断和监测以及更进一步地微观评价疗效成为可能。同时,体内分子成像可在机体完整的微环境状态下观察生物系统的病理过程。目前分子成像技术主要应用于以下方面:1)内源基因的表达成像;(2)分子特性早期检测;(3)药物治疗的成像。分子成像、细胞成像系统速度快,维数多,数据量急剧攀升,导致传统的人工分析手段已经不再适用。本课题组目前的研究主要是采用图像处理、模式识别、机器学习等技术,通过计算机对分子成像数据、细胞成像数据进行自动分割、跟踪、分类、识别,旨在探索适用于分子成像系统、细胞成像系统的自动分析方法,开发提高研究效率的计算工具。

三、基于三维人脸合成技术的医学整容计算机辅助设计系统

 

随着医学整容的日益流行,接受整容手术的人数飞速增长,整容效果和手术风险成为医学整容界的热点问题。外科医生急需应用计算机多媒体仿真技术进行手术设计和预测术后效果。目前的医学影像重建技术只能做三维显示,无法进行手术设计和术后效果预测。本项研究旨在实现了一个医学整容计算机辅助设计系统,该系统利用高精度的医学CTMRI影像,建立三维人脸模型,并在三维虚拟人脸上进行多种整容手术设计和预测术后效果。图4和图5是我们目前的一些结果。
