The particle cosmology group in the Department of Astronomy at the University of Science and Technology of China will host a special school in November of 2019 in the east campus of the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). All undergraduate and graduate students in the field of particle cosmology, high energy astrophysics as well as theoretical physics are most welcome to join us.
We will have Professor Ian McArthur from the University of Western Australia, who is a highly experienced expert of theoretical physics in the field of SUSY and SUGRA, to visit our group from November until December of this year. He is very willing to meet the outstanding students in our university and to give a series of lectures on Quantum Field Theory from the basic to a brief introduction to SUSY.
We will also have Professor Sergei Odintsov from the Institute of Space Sciences (IEEC-CSIC) in Barcelona, Spain to visit us from October until November of this year. His main topics of research include cosmology, astrophysics and gravitation. He will give a series of lectures on the physics of gravitational physics and cosmological implications as well as a public presentation under the School of Physical Sciences of USTC.
With the purpose of improving the preparation of young students who are interested in the aforementioned fields, we organize the special fall school in this year. All lecture videos shall be found here for your study purpose.
We will not request any fee for registration, and will also not provide any extra funds for students out of Hefei. However, there are quite some hotels near by the east campus of USTC. If you need help with hotel booking, you may feel free to let me know. For the convenience of those who may be from other cities, please return me the receipt by selecting hotel booking information and choosing which classes you are attending. The receipt form can be downloaded here.
