Professor   University of Science and Technology of China           2014-present

Postdoc.  Koch Institute, Massachusetts Institute of Technology     2010-2014

Ph.D.  Department of Chemistry, Ohio State University                               2010

M.S.  Department of Chemistry, Tsinghua University                                    2003

B.S.  Department of Chemistry, Tsinghua University                                     2001

Dr. Ma joined the Department of Chemistry at USTC in March 2014. He was a Postdoctoral Associate working with Professor Robert Langer at MIT. During his postdoc research, Dr. Ma developed a polymer generator driven by water gradients, which can harvest energy from room-temperature water evaporation and convert it into electric power. While at MIT, he also worked on the synthesis of therapeutic and diagnostic nanomaterials for targeted delivery to thrombosis. Dr. Ma's doctorate research with Professor Dennis Bong at OSU focused on synthetic molecular recognition motifs at bio-interfaces, which helps to elucidate the thermodynamic parameters of lipid membrane fusion processes. Dr. Ma had also accumulated research experiences in conducting polymers, electrochemistry and organometallics chemistry during his education at Tsinghua University.
