• Yonghe Pan's paper entitled "The interaction of Au with thin ZrO2 films: influence of ZrO2 morphology on the adsorption and thermal stability of Au nanoparticles" has been accepted for publication on Langmuir on March. 16, 2012. Congratulations!
• Dr. Christian Papp from University of Erlangen-Nuernberg, Germany will bring his research team to visit our group from March 13 to March 25, 2012 and do some collaborative research on graphene surface chemistry using our synchrotron radiation Photoemission facilities. He will give a seminar talk entitled "Chemical Modification of Graphene" at 10:00 AM on March 23.Welcome everyone to join the seminars!
• Prof. Michael Gottfried from Fachbereich Chemie, Philipps-Universitaet Marburg will work in our laboratory as a visiting professor from March 5 to April 5, 2012.
• Xuefei Feng's paper entitled "Electronic structures and chemical reactions at the interface between Li and regioregular poly (3-hexylthiophene)" has been accepted for publication on Organic Electronics on Feb. 11, 2012. Congratulations!
• Ph.D student, Xuefei Feng, starts his one year study in Advanced Light Source, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, USA on Feb. 8, 2012.
• Ph.D student, Liang Zhang, has finished his one year study in Dr. Jinghua Guo's group in Advanced Light Source, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, USA and returned back to the group on Dec. 21, 2011.
• Dr. Fabian Bebensee and Dr. Regine Streber from Interdisciplinary Nanoscience Center, Aarhus University, Denmark will visit our group from October 13 to 17, 2011. Dr. Bebensee will give a seminar talk entitled "A Porous Molecular Network from Tetrahydroxybenzene" at 10:00 AM on Oct. 14. Dr. Streber will a seminar talk entitled "XPS Investigations of Reactions on Stepped Pt and Flat TiO2 Surfaces" at 10:00 AM on Oct. 17. The place for both talks is Room 210 of Building #3 of NSRL. Welcome everyone to join the seminars!
• 2011-10-03, PhD student, Dandan Kong, comes back to our group after she finished her one-year study in Prof. Karl-Heniz Ernst's group in EMPA, Switzerland.
• Two new PhD students, Cici Wang and Fei Ke,and three new master students, Yifan Ye, Qitang Fan and Weijia Wang, joined our group in September, 2011. Welcome!
• 2011-6-24: Qian Xu and Yonghe Pan Successfully passed their oral defenses for a master degree.
• 2011-6-11: Yonghe Pan's paper "Growth, Structure, and Stability of Au on Ordered ZrO2(111) Thin Films " was published on J. Phys. Chem. C, 2011, 115 (21), pp 10744–10751.
• 2011-6-11: Dandan Kong's paper "Growth, Structure, and Stability of Ag on CeO2(111): Synchrotron Radiation Photoemission Studies " was published on J. Phys. Chem. C, 2011, 115 (14), pp 6715–6725 .
• 2010-11-5: Prof. Hans-Peter Steinrueck, the vice president of University of Erlangen-Nuernbery, visited our laboratory and gave a scientific talk entitled: "Towards the engineering of nanoscale surface structures - from in situ metallation to electron beam induced deposition."
• 2010-10-5: PhD student Dandan Kong has successfully accessed the national scholarship and she will spend one year studying in Empa - Materials Science & Technology, Dübendof, Switzerland as an exchange student from October,2010.
• 2010-9-20: Prof. Peter Zeppenfeld from Institute of Experimental Physics, University Linz, Austria visited our laboratory and gave a scientific talk entitled: "Optical spectroscopy for surface and thin film analysis".
• 2010-9-13: Dr. Florian Maier from Physical Chemistry II, University of Erlangen-Nuernberg, Germany visit our laboratory and gave a scientific talk entitled: "Insights into Surface Science of Ionic Liquids".
• 2010-9-10: PhD student Liang Zhang has successfully accessed the exchange student scholarship from the Lawance Berkerly National Laboratory, USA. He will spend one year starting from October, 2010 there.
• 2010-8-30: Dr. Fabian Bebensee from Aarhus University，Denmark visited our laboratory and gave a seminar talk entitled:"The Ca/Poly(3-hexylthiophene) Interface: Interface Formation and Ways to Influence It".
• 2010-7-26: Prof. Zhu was invited to visit Institute of Experimental Physics, Johannes Kepler University Linz, Austria and gave a talk entitled: "Metal / polymer interfaces: energetics and structures".
• 2010-7-19: Prof. Zhu was invited to visit EMPA, Switzerland and gave a talk entitled: "Energetics and Structures at the Metal/Polyer Interfaces".
• 2010-6-15: Prof. Zhu was invited to be a guest professor in University of Erlangen-Nuernberg, Germany. He will spend two months in Erlangen.
• 2010-6-6:Yan Gao and Min Chen Successfully passed their oral defenses for a master degree.
• 2010-5-31:Chen min's paper "Direct Synthesis of Nickel(II) Tetraphenylporphyrin and Its Interaction with a Au(111) Surface: A Comprehensive Study" was published on J. Phys. Chem. C, 2010, 114 (21), pp 9908–9916 .
