Welcome to visit the Surface Physics & Chemistry Group! Our research group was established in December 2006 financially supported by "Hundred Talents Program" of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. We are affiliated to the National Synchrotron Radiation Laboratory (NSRL), University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). The main research of our group is focused on the studies of electronic and chemical structures, adsorption and reaction properties on the surfaces and interfaces of model catalysts and functional material devices using modern synchrotron radiation based techniques in combination with conventional surface science tools.

- The former vice-president of Friedrich-Alexander-Universitaet Erlangen-Nürnberg, Germany, member of Academy of Europe, member of German National Academy of Sciences and member of Austrian Academy of Sciences, Prof.Dr. Hans-Peter Steinrück,visited our laboratory from June 15 to 20, 2017 and gave a seminar talk entitled "In situ studies of surface reactions - from small molecules to liquid organic hydrogen carriers" on June 16, 2017 at 10:00 in Room 210 of Building #3 in NSRL. Prof.Steinrück currently is also the guest professor of university.

Prof. Wei Chen's current research interests include Molecular-scale Interface Engineering for Molecular, Organic and 2D Materials-based Electronics, and Interface-Controlled Nanocatalysis for Energy and Environmental Research.

- Prof. Ulrike Diebold from Institute of Applied Physics, University of Technology (TU Wien) in Vienna, Austria will visit our laboratory and give a seminar talk entitled "The Fe3O4(001) Surface as a Model for Single-Atom Catalysis" on Jan. 8, 2016 at 15:30 in Lecture Hall of Building #2 in NSRL.
Prof. Diebold is currently a divisional associate editor of the journal Physical Review Letters. She has been elected Fellow of AVS, APS, and AAAS, and is a member of the Austrian, the German, and the European Academy of Sciences. She is a recipient of several international awards, most recently an Advanced Research Grant from the European Research Council, the Adamson Award of the American Chemical Society, the Blaise Pascal Medal in Materials Science, and the Wittgenstein Prize, the highest science award in Austria.Welcome everyone to join the seminar!

- Prof. Junfa Zhu was invited to give a plenary talk in the 3rd Cross-Strait Synchrotron Radiation Research Symposium, Sept. 21-24, 2014, Shanghai. The title of his talk is "The application of synchrotron radiation soft X-ray spectroscopies in the studies of surface and interface physical chemistry of complex systems".
- Dr. Yingge Du from EMSL, Environmental Molecular Sciences Laboratory, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL), Richland, USA visited our lab from Sept. 17 to 19, 2014. - Our group has successfully organized the "1st National Symposium on Surface Physical Chemistry, 2013" with the help of Prof. Xiang Shao in Department of Chemical Physics in USTC. The symposium was held on October 20-23 in Huangshan, Anhui, China.
