Specialty: Applied Mathematics
Applied Mathematical specialty in the department of mathematics
at USTC has
many research areas, two of them I am interested in are as follows.
01: Combinatorics and Graph Theory
This
research area covers the classical and the modern problems that occur in
combinatorics and graph theory. Currently, a special research interesting is graph theory, including various subjects in the fields such as connectivity,
diameter, Hamilton problem, coloring theory, extremal problem, graphical
algorithm, algebraic graph theory and so on.
02: Topological Structure of
Interconnection Networks
This research area is an interdisciplinary studies encompassing
combinatorial theory and methodology used in the topological structural design
and analysis of interconnection networks, including the newest parameters to
measure performance of fault-tolerant networks such as forwarding index of a
routing, Menger number, Rabin number, fault-tolerant diameter, wide-diameter,
restricted connectivity and diameter, and (l,
w)-dominating number and so on as well as the design of optimal networks in a
sense.
