Short Biography

Ligang Liu will join USTC as a high-profile professor of "Hundred Talents Program" of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) in the Spring of 2012. He will be the director of the Graphics&Geometric Computing Lab (GCL) at USTC. He received a Bachelor degree and a PhD degree in Applied Mathematics from Zhejiang University in 1996 and 2001 respectively. During 2001 and 2004, he worked at Microsoft Research Asia. Then he moved to Zhejiang University and led the Computer Graphics Group at the Department of Mathematics during 2004 and 2012. He paid an academic visit to SEAS at Harvard University during 2009 and 2011. Awards: Microsoft Young Professorship Award (2006), First Prize of Lu Zengyong CAD&CG High-Tech Award in China (2010).
